Who we clear for

Most of our clearing work falls into two groups. The first is public work: county road departments and city public works crews who need ditch lines, shoulders, and sight lines opened back up, plus utilities that have to keep easements passable. The second is private: developers and commercial owners getting a lot, a pad site, or a stretch of wooded acreage ready for what comes next.

The goals are different, but the problem is usually the same. Brush and saplings have taken over, and somebody needs the ground back without tearing it up.

How we clear land

Forestry mulching

For a lot of right of way and easement work, forestry mulching is the cleanest option. A mulching head cuts and grinds brush, saplings, and small trees in one pass and leaves the material on the ground as mulch. There are no burn piles to manage, and the soil stays covered. See our forestry mulching services.

Clearing and grubbing

When a site is headed for grading, building, or drainage work, the roots and stumps usually have to come out too. We clear and grub with excavators so the ground is ready for the next crew. If you need the material taken off site, we can talk through haul-off when we scope the job.

Selective clearing

Not every tree has to go. We can take out the brush, saplings, and invasive growth and leave the mature trees you want to keep, which is common on commercial lots and along property lines.

Right of way and sight line clearing

Overgrowth along a road causes real problems. Brush that crowds a curve or an intersection blocks sight lines. Saplings in a roadside ditch slow the water down and catch debris, and before long the ditch stops draining. Easements that go untended get harder and more expensive to open up each year.

We clear road right of way, ditch lines, and drainage easements back to a usable width so crews can see, water can move, and maintenance equipment can get through. On steep banks and ditch slopes that a standard machine can't reach safely, our long reach excavator service with a mulching head works from the road shoulder. When the ditch itself needs cleaning after the brush is gone, that's the kind of work we cover under culvert cleaning and drainage solutions.

Erosion control after clearing

Freshly cleared ground is exposed ground, and in Western Kentucky that means the next hard rain can start moving soil. Mulching helps because the ground stays covered. On cleared and grubbed sites, it's worth planning for erosion control before the work starts. Here's more on how to prevent erosion after land clearing, and on our approach to sustainable land management around Benton.

Equipment used, with operator

We clear with an excavator fitted with a forestry mulching head, standard excavators, and our long reach excavator for slopes and banks. Each one comes with a Supreme operator who does this work every day. If your own crew needs a machine and an operator for a clearing job, see our equipment rental with operator options.

Right of way clearing is removing brush, saplings, and trees from the strip of land along a road, ditch, utility line, or drainage easement so it can be seen, maintained, and used. Supreme Enterprises clears right of way for road departments, utilities, and commercial sites across Western Kentucky with operated equipment.

Both, depending on the job. Forestry mulching works well for right of way, easements, and overgrown acreage because it clears in one pass and leaves the soil covered. Clearing and grubbing makes more sense when stumps and roots have to come out for grading or building.
